How does it work?
The quality coating on Cordillera Tyvek allows the ink to sink right into the material, enabling the end product to be immersed under water without the ink bleeding or running. Just leave for 30 minutes after printing to dry fully, the resultant product is a remarkably water resistant banner suitable for several months outdoor use.
What About the Print Quality?
No solvent, latex or UV inkjet printer - however advanced - can match the pin-sharp graphics and vivid colours of pigment ink printers.
Cordillera prints beautifully in full colour for ultimate print definition and colour vibrancy that is water resistant.
Working with the material
Just like standard PVC banner vinyl, Cordillera Tyvek can be eyeletted, stitched, welded or stuck using polyester banner tape (although it is actually strong enough not to need a double-width hem).
Tyvek is renowned as an incredible super-strength material made of flash spun, high-density polyethylene (HDPE) fibres. Its flexibility makes it suitable for a variety of purposes from tough mailing envelopes to construction projects and house wrapping.
Tyvek is quite simply the toughest and most tearproof material around and can withstand the harshest of weather conditions.
Is it expensive?
Not at all. At little more than £4 per sq m Cordillera is a cost-effective solution for producing weatherproof outdoor banners.
And a bonus point over traditional PVC vinyl - Tyvek is produced under a verified environmental policy under ISO 14001 and is also recyclable at any facility that accepts HDPE materials.
